The Gallipoli Company of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Army Cadet Force is inviting young people to an open evening in the West Wight.

Taking place on Tuesday, April 30 from 4.30pm, visitors can drop into the Freshwater detachment. The event is aimed at youngsters aged 12-18, keen to take a glimpse into life as an Army cadet.

On offer will be a host of activities such as field and camp craft, cooking and rations, first aid, a laser gun range and an introduction to the equipment used by the cadets.

There is no need to pre-register; simply turn up anytime until 9pm.

The event will be taking place at the Totland Recreation Ground, Broadway.

Parents and guardians can attend the evening which also promises to provide refreshments, a recruitment video, and the chance to interact with existing cadets and staff to answer queries.

The evening also expects the presence of VIPs including the Isle of Wight Lord Lieutenant Susie Sheldon, MP Bob Seely, IW Councillors and the new High Sheriff, Graham Biss.
